BEAUTIFUL BIRTHDAYS FOR MY BABY >
Yep, it’s THAT time of year. AGAIN. The countdown to my baby’s next birthday! Weeks filled with party planning chaos, a parade of pink prettiness flying out my poky bits, the lump in the throat is creeping in most nights, as I scroll back at the year that was. Oh, and of course… The nostalgic blog posts! #sorrynotsorry
For MG’s first birthday we kept it pretty low-key, and opted for an intimate gathering of close friends and family at home. When I say ‘low-key’, it’s all relative of course. I love hosting and nothing gets my creative girlie juices flowing, like styling a party! There wasn’t really a theme per se, just an abundance of colour and LOVE! I’ve listed the suppliers we used.

{ Cookies & cupcakes: Sweet Cheeks Cookies & Cakes, The Cupcake Queens }
{ Chocolate crackles by my gorgeous friend, Jac Rutherford, ha! }
MG’s SECOND BIRTHDAY >
We were so lucky that MG’s first and second birthdays fell on a Saturday and then a Sunday, hashtag blessed. However, for birthday number two… Errr, ummm, I did NOT do anything ‘low-key’. MG’s second birthday came five months after we lost Charlotte. In those five months I basically hadn’t left our house, seen any of my friends, or had any real contact with people – I kid you not. I needed a project to keep my mind and my heart busy, and so this Pink-Peppa extravaganza was born! This was also a welcomed distraction to Charlotte’s due date – 23rd May 2017.
This time we booked Greenfields on Albert Park Lake – wow, wow, wow! This venue is beyond stunning, and even more so during the day (the light is INCREDIBLE!). I did ALL the styling myself and sourced the suppliers – most of which we used for her first birthday, and will again this weekend for her third birthday.
REMEMBER: Styling any event does NOT need to cost you a fortune. I shopped-up a storm at the $2 Shop, IKEA, Target and K-Mart. Spotlight also have some amazing party and craft supplies. It’s all about HOW you style it, and hello, that’s what Pinterest is for if you get stuck!
{ I’ve had A LOT of comments/questions about this one – it’s actually not a picture book, it’s giant canvas I painted and then stuck on the number two! I purchased the canvas from our local $2 shop and painted it pink, duh. It’s about 1.5 x 1.5m. The number ‘2’ is from Lombard. I then printed 700 million photos and spent HOURS cutting them out to fit! Blood, sweat and tears, baby! }
