SISJ BEAUTY: CONTOURING YOUR FACIAL CURVES >

In many ways, contouring is the magical make-up technique that gives you those chiseled Gisele Bundchen cheekbones (and makes you look 5kg lighter!). However, there are many things that can go horribly wrong if the right technique and products aren’t used. Today on the blog I have shared my four favourite contouring kits/products, including a shopping link for your convenience. I personally own and use all of these – depending on my desired look. Enjoy!

TOM FORD – SHADE & ILLUMINATE > Tom Ford is all about understanding the basic architecture of your face and bringing balance and symmetry to your features. This duet of highlighting and shading creams is designed to make sculpting and contouring the face simple. The super sheer, light shade can be used to draw light onto the skin to brighten and lift the face. The dark shade defines and contours bones while staying invisible to the naked eye. I would suggest using a contouring brush or a buffing brush to apply/blend ($105.00 – SHOP HERE)

CLINIQUE – CHUBBY STICKS (CURVY CONTOUR & HEFTY HIGHLIGHT) > These two babies are brand spankin’ new and I have been lucky enough to get my hot little hands (and face!) all over them. If you are having a ‘flat day’ kinda-day (pardon the pun), and you crave some lift and depth to your cheekbones, meet your instant sculpting secret! These crayons deliver MUA-worthy results with just a few simple strokes. Following the example above of where to apply the contour Vs the highlighter, the Chubby Sticks can be blended with a warm finger tip, contouring brush or a buffing brush ($42.00 EACH – AVAILABLE FROM 3RD MAY 2015, SHOP HERE)

NARS – CONTOUR BLUSH DUO > This duo is definitely for the ‘powder-lover’. Where as the Clinique Chubby Sticks and Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate will both give you more of a dewy finish (which I prefer most of the time). This formula is silky and easy to blend and has a sheer finish and can be built-up to your desired look. The matte highlight shade gives the skin a soft-focus effect that looks luminous and natural ($56.00 – SHOP HERE)

LAURA MERCIER – MATTE RADIANCE BAKED POWDER > This is a single bronzing powder, so I have been mixing it with a pale crème concealer from Inglot to achieve the same results as above. However, BREAKING SISJ NEWS… The Laura Mercier Contour Kit is coming to Australia very soon (eeeeep!). I cannot wait. This ultra-sheer, blendable palette was inspired by Laura’s work with celebrity clients, who wanted a universal compact that would “wake-up” their skin and give them an immediate healthy glow. With its flexibility and soft luminosity, you can customise your look (daytime, night-time or Kimye!). The ultralightweight formula feels weightless on the skin and blends effortlessly, for some seriously sharp and sexy cheekbones! ( $38.00 – SHOP HERE)
