SISJ BEAUTY : GORGEOUS GLOWY SKIN >

I don’t do ‘the matte look’ when it comes to my make-up for two reasons: 1) I think it ages me, and 2) because. From the ground (primer!) up, I work in some sort of glowly gorgeousness at every stage to ensure I look at least four years younger, and that I appear to have had more sleep than I really have. Simples. I want my skin so darn glowy that my local barista can admire his own reflection each morning when I order my skinny cap. I am not even exaggerating to clarify. Seriously. So, if like me, you need some extra glowly girl power in the AM – scroll down and thank me later!

FOUNDATION: Giorgio Armani Designer Lift (shade 5.5) / if you’re a regular beauty reader on SISJ, you would know this foundation is life. IT GIVES ME LIFE – to be precise. It’s the perfect foundation for AM & PM wear, building beautifully depending on the look you are going for. It also possesses some sort of magic ingredient that morphs to your skin colour (as mine changes on a daily basis #spraytanlife). It retails for $90, but worth every little cent.

HIGHLIGHTER (MAGIC POTION): BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector (Champagne Pop) / For years I assumed BECCA was a washed-up brand, but they are back and baby, they are AMAZING! Their Shimmering Skin Perfector range is incredible and my new BEAUTY FAVE / MUST-HAVE.

PRIMER: Yves Saint Laurent – Touche Eclat Blur Primer / This primer is absolutely divine and totally, totally over the top price wise – but, YOLO. I prefer a gel primer, as opposed to a cream primer (although Laura Mercier is the exception here – their Radiance cream primer is fab). This YSL gel primer is light and creates the most stunning and GLOWY base to build on. It really does fill in the gaps between those fine lines – particularly around the eyes (smile lines), and the corners of the mouth. GET ON IT.

MASCARA: PONi Cosmetics The White Knight Mascara / I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m the town bike when it comes to Mascara – I’ll give anything a go! I normally always end up back with the always reliable Maybelline, but for this look I tried the WKM. The wand itself is designed to give you ultimate length/width, without clumping – and it does exactly this.

BROWS: Chanel Perfect Brows / Nothing new here. Same old trusty fave. I am still yet to find a better brush/applicator – I think that’s what makes this product a winner. Oh, and I tint my own brows like every seven minutes. That helps too.

LIPS: Lancôme Rose NU (shade 06) / I featured this lipstick in my last BP, I just love it. In the images above though, I am literally only wearing one layer and some gloss. Normally on its own it doesn’t need additional gloss, as it’s a semi-gloss finish – but that’s with several coats. I wanted a super natural look here, but it builds to a gorgeous dusty rose colour.

SETTING SPRAY: Caudalie Beauty Elixir / I first discovered this about seven years ago, and we’ve been together ever since. While it’s not technically a ‘setting spray’, I find it works just as well/same. I have a large bottle for home and a 30ml bottle for my handbag. It smells amazing and it sprays on in a fine mist (contains oil). It does NOT smudge or alter your make-up, you just air dry with your hands or leave as is. I spray this twice over the space of the day/evening, and no further make-up needs applying. It holds and gives your skin this gorgeous glow I’ve been going on about! This is available at Sephora.
