BEAUTY: STOP & SMELL THE ROSES >
Yipeeee, my first beauty blog post for 2018! In honour of my Charlotte Rose’s first birthday/anniversary yesterday, today’s products are all about ROSE, FLORALS & PINK. I am like totally stepping outside the square today – NOT. ENJOY x
{ HUDA BEAUTY : LIP CONTOUR IN GOSSIP GURL }
Hudda Kattan is an American make-up artist and beauty blogger, and more recently founded her own cosmetics range – HUDA BEAUTY. In 2017 Hudda was named by Time Magazine as one of ‘The 25 Most Influential People on the Internet’ – GO GIRL! I did love the look of her eye shadow and highlighter kits on social media, however, I wasn’t a fan when I tried them on in Sephora. These palettes are highly pigmented and way too shimmery for me and my colouring. I was hell-bent on buying something though – come on, the only way to leave Sephora is with empty pockets! I purchased the ‘Gossip Gurl’ lip pencil featured above. It’s a gorgeous dusty rose colour and glides on beautifully. This pencil is vegan, cruelty-free and contains no parabens. It retails for $19 which is AMAZING, and about 1/3 of the price of the usual By Terry lip pencil I wear from Mecca. CHECK OUT HUDA BEAUTY.
{ LANCOME : ROSE NU L’ABSOLU ROUGE 06 }
I was actually given this lipstick as a gift a few months ago and it quickly became my FAVOURITE rose shade, like ever – well, second to the Charlotte Rose lipstick I created with Shanghai Suzy, of course! I am not a matte girl – lips, face or body. I like to shine it up and I also have a zero tolerance to dry lipsticks. This cream formula is super nourishing, but of course doesn’t last as long as a matte formula (but, totes worth it). This is the perfect every day shade. It does retail for $52, so a much higher price point than HUDA.
{ GUCCI BLOOM EAU DE PARFUM }
You guessed it… It’s a floral scent – Rangoon Creeper, Jasmine & Tuberose to be precise. When it comes to perfume for me, it’s ALL ABOUT FLORALS. My other two faves: Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and the Red Roses by Jo Malone. The packaging for this scent is absolutely stunning and it retails for $94 for the 50ml at SEPHORA. Add it to the beauty shopping list or screen shot it and send it to your partner as a JFYI – I find this subtle/not-so subtle tactic works in my favour more often than not! I’m not a big Valentine’s Day person, but hey, it’s around the corner so hit them up!
