SISJ FASHION EDIT – MY TOP TEN LABELS TO SHOP ONLINE >
Today on the blog I have put together an edit of my current top ten designers and brands to shop online. It’s kind of obvious (*cough cough) that I adore pink and every hue in-between, as well as lace, crochet, bell sleeves and sexy silhouettes. While I do do lots of local shopping, my two favourite sites to shop on are Revolve Clothing and Shopbop. Not only do they have some of the ‘big fashion names’, but they have also introduced me to designers I had never even heard of and now LOVE! If you would describe your style as feminine, figure-flattering, selegant, a little boho-esque, sweet and sassy, then I think you should absolutely snuggle-up in bed tonight and get shopping some of the below. You can thank me later! SJ x
For Love & Lemons – Prob one of my all-time fave brands and I think very reasonably priced (average $240 – $400 for a dress). The collection is defined by a sweet, childish playfulness, set off by a sexy, grown-up edge. Their fabrics are incredible and they fit my body shape really well (boobies, smaller waist and booty/hips). Their intimates collection is divine – but I am old and married now, so I don’t bother! HA!
Self Portrait – To say I am OBSESSED BEYOND NO RETURN with Self Portrait would be an understatement. Their designs are exquisite, as are their finishes and fabric – you pay a pretty price for them though (but worth every cent in my opinion). I own a few of their designs, but you can also rent these at Glam Corner and Your Closet Hire online boutiques here in Australia for a faction of the price. Also check out their range on Net-A-Porter as they carry different designs to Revolve and Shopbop (more black).
Free People – Free People is fun, it’s girlie, it’s let’s hang out in Byron Bay and be babes! The designers focus on the lifestyle of the Free People girl, encouraging self-confidence and self-expression; the ability to identify what she loves is our secret to offering her the best product assortment and experience possible. Most dresses are between $90 – $250 and the quality is fantastic (also a fab label during pregnancy!). I am a size small, so definitely go up. Stay true to size.
(EDIT ONE FROM L > R: Amanda Uprichard – Joanna Dress / For Love & Lemons – X Revolve dress / Self Portrait – Cold Shoulder Dress / Tularosa – X Revolve Holly Top (Same fabric/story as dress I am wearing in the banner image and I have this top and now it’s on sale!) / Free People – Fine Romance Dress (I also own this, and it’s now on sale!)
Tularosa – TULAROSA is almost a mix of Free People, For Love & Lemons with accents of Self Portrait – and very reasonably priced. TULAROSA. She is a wandering soul with a heart of gold. Her modern bohéme lifestyle is inspired by the beautiful and timeless pieces she collects along the way. She seeks the vibrant colors of the Earth, the salty ocean air and the warm sun rays on her face. TULAROSA encapsulates a style that is free-spirited, effortless and full of love.
Lela Rose – Lela Rose are hit and miss – particularly when it comes to their fabric. Some designs are out of this world amazing and others, ugh, no thanks. Their price points are also at the designer-designer end of the credit card though! Lela Rose, the New York City-based, American fashion designer widely regarded for her elegant aesthetic and fresh point of view, continues to redefine a sophisticated, yet modern lifestyle with her expanded, designer ready-to-wear-offering. Formally trained as a painter and sculptor prior to pursuing fashion design, Rose employs a brilliant use of colour, rich fabrications, sculptural silhouettes and handcrafted details. Her artistic background is evident in her work and adds unexpected dimension and breadth to each season’s collection.
Line & Dot – The Line & Dot clothing philosophy is one of simplicity and femininity. A collection of graceful pieces made with thoughtful attention to detail, these easy-to-style dresses, skirts, tops, and jacket project a modern aesthetic in figure-flattering lines and soft, luxe fabrics. Line & Dot is headquartered in California and cultivates an inventive and evolving look.
Saloni – I’ve only recently discovered Saloni, but wah-wah-wee-wah! These maxi dresses are floral prints are to die for! London based contemporary womenswear designer Saloni Lodha founded her brand SALONI in 2011. The brand subtly draws on Saloni’s Indian heritage, re-interpreting prints, silhouette and colour in a modern way. Born in India, Saloni studied in Mumbai and later moved to Hong Kong and London before returning to Hong Kong where she now lives.
Bailey 44 – These are the two dresses on the left featured below and I am loving them sick! Founded in 2006, Bailey44 is a women’s contemporary clothing line designed and manufactured in Los Angeles, California. Bailey44’s clothing is made for the woman who is agelessly sexy, effortlessly cool, and who works at balancing an active, busy life. Bailey44 designs are inspired by fabrics that feel luxurious against the skin and move with the body. Soft jersey knits, pontes, stretch silks and eco leathers are made into pieces that are meticulously tried on and adjusted to ensure a precision fit. With well-versed imaginations and a keen eye for the zeitgeist, Bailey44’s design team turns sleek, simple silhouettes into modern looks for the polished downtown-chic woman.
(EDIT TWO FROM L > R) Bailey 44 – Labyrinth Dress / Bailey 44 – Gobi Desert Dress / / Elliatt – Elements Dress / Rolla’s – Linda Dress / Tessora – Cut Out Lace Maxi
Amanda Uprichard – Amanda Uprichard is daring, feminine and confident with her designs – yet remains totally wearable. Her collections personify a flirty first impression with an unpredictable wit. I absolutely adore this dress which is featured above on the left – her collections of pastels, beautiful sleeves and off the shoulder pieces at the moment is STUNNING! As I was putting this post together I purchased the Delilah Maxi Dress… Ooops!
Tessora – Gleaning from faraway cultures with an eye for the extraordinary, Elizabeth Whipple founded Tessora as a celebration of beauty, life, and travel. She melded together a lifetime love of color, embellishments and fine craftsmanship into a line of premium resort wear that is both poetic and purposeful. A jewel box of a company, Tessora sees each piece as being a special gem in a woman’s wardrobe. Using methods seeped in tradition, Tessora is committed to creating exquisite clothing, meticulously handcrafted by artisans and with versatile wearability in mind so no matter where in the world you explore or whatever magical destination you choose you can be at your most beautiful.
