SISJ LIFESTYLE: A SUNDAY SOIREE WITH CHAMBORD >
Jusqu’au bout de la nuit!
I recently hosted a ‘SUNDAY SOIREE’ with my lovely ladies, where we experimented with cocktails, ate far too much cheese and sweet-treats! This soiree was all about the finer things in life and creating a unique and active experience for my guests. Drawing from all-things French, I wanted to capture some of the extravagance in which the infamous, Marie Antoinette, lived her life. An abundance of flowers, food and fashion – followed by some amazing company and conversation.
CHAMBORD EVENT STYLING:
As you can probably tell, my world is all about pink, pink and more pink! I am a girlie-girl through and through and love creating beautiful things. For my ‘SUNDAY SOIREE’ I took inspiration from vibrant spring blooms, the extravagance of Marie Antoinette’s lifestyle and one of my favourite liqueurs, Chambord. I had my lovely friend at Nectar & Stone create my favourite chocolates in the colours of Chambord, which also worked with my spring/pink styling.
When it comes to interior stying, event or fashion, I am a big believer in blending trends that complement each other. I love a touch of French provincial, styled back with the crisp lines and simplicity of modern-chic. With my centre pieces and floral arrangements I have used a variety of different vases – some circular, some square and bold and others quite bespoke (jam jars, old candles). I also included some more traditional pieces like my candelabras and the cake stand – which tied it all back to my original design brief and inspo.

DRESSING TO IMPRESS:
When it comes to event styling, your outfit, hair and make-up are just as much a part of the overall look as the table setting, food and drink. For my ‘SUNDAY SOIREE’ I wanted to dress in-line with my colour scheme and of course look on-trend for SS14/15.
Obviously the time of day and type of event can drastically impact your fashion and beauty choices. As this was an afternoon event, I wanted to wear something casual, but still look like the ‘hostess with the mostess’! It’s all about understated elegance and style – you don’t want to overwhelm your guests or overdress. Sophisticated style will always win over loud and inappropriate choices (e.g. keep the sequins for after dark!).
OUTFIT BREAKDOWN > Lulu & Rose shift dress // BCBG MAXAZRIA heels // Thomas Sabo watch // Versace Yellow Diamond perfume // Shanghai Suzy Lipstick – Miss Sarah Jane // Hermes Clic-Clac // Samantha Wills ring // St Tropez shimmer oil // Misuzi personalised ‘SJ’ necklace // Chambord – drink of choice
HOW TO DRINK CHAMBORD LIKE A LADY!
As our ‘SUNDAY SOIREE’ stretched out from the afternoon into the evening, we enjoyed a variety of different blends of Chambord! As we munched our way through all the food and enjoyed the 30deg sunshine in Melbourne, we popped in and out of the bar blending-up our faves. Here are some of the recipes my guests and I tried >
CHAMBORD ROYALE (MY FAVE!): 10ml Chambord, any fizz you fancy (sparkling or Champagne) & raspberry
CHAMBORD SPRITZ: 50ml Chambord, 125ml dry white wine & soda water
CHAMBORD VODKA LEMONADE: 25ml Chambord, 25ml Finlandia® vodka, lemonade & lime wedge
FRENCH MARTINI: 15ml Chambord, 50ml Finlandia® vodka, 60ml fresh pineapple juice, raspberries & a handful of ice
