You know you’re a mum of two young children when it takes 70 years of planning, an outfit change 3.5 seconds before you run out the door, help from the in-laws at ‘handover’, 470 lists, routine info, food prepped for the hubby, and a DIY tan job to go out for the second time in four months – HA! UGH.
Over the weekend we celebrated my baby sister’s hens night! Eeeeep! The countdown to the wedding is on! Yes, she is a fully grown adult, but she will always be MY baby sister! A BIG thank you to my fellow bridesmaids for all your hard work and planning, I think we successfully made her squirm with embarrassment a few times (at least!), and she didn’t stop smiling and laughing. I learnt a LOT about my sis on the weekend and that I am totally the prude and boring one, but hey. I had a heap of messages about my outfit (the one Max spewed on, thanks mate!), and hair/make-up etc., so I’ve included this info below, as well as where and what we did. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!
PINK OUTFIT: ALICE MCCALL, GREY DRESS: NEEDLE & THREAD, MY MAKE-UP & HAIR: KERRY TSEROS, SIS’S MAKE-UP & HAIR: ZOE KARLIS
VENUE // CORK & CHROMA (36 Smith St, Collingwood) : I’d heard amazing things about Cork & Chroma, so I was so excited when my sister approved this for activity number one! It was a super chilled afternoon and a great ice breaker activity for those who didn’t know each other – but totally out of most people’s comfort zone (a good thing for events like this!). C&C are available to book for public sessions and private bookings – a great girls night out or work party/bonding. We did the ‘Picasso’ style workshop (so many LOLs). It’s BYO and we organised some cheese boards etc. It’s a 40x50cm canvas and you take this home with you. The guys who run this are awesome, with lots of tips and tricks along the way – as most of us hadn’t painted since primary school! Unlike moi of course who runs a Messy Play session in my backyard for three year old children daily! #SOFANCY
After our very creative and cheeky afternoon, we went on to celebrate at Ludlow in Southbank for dinner/drinks. Ludlow epitomises Melbourne’s riverside drinking and dining culture, featuring a large dining room, cocktail lounge and public bar, all topped off with stunning views of the Yarra. This is a FAB venue for events like this, as they offer 14 flexible spaces suitable for small groups of 10 right up to large events for 400 guests.
LOVE YOU, JANKERS! x
