SISJ PREGNANCY FASHION: RIPE MATERNITY AW15 >

After receiving such positive feedback on social media regarding my pregnancy fashion, I thought it was only fair of me to share some of my AW15 faves. Today it’s all about when to start wearing maternity fashion and of course how to style it. Before I jump right into it, I will say the number one thing to remember when shopping for maternity and nursing fashion, is that you should stay true to your style. Just because your body is changing, it doesn’t mean you need to transform your style and wardrobe to something it’s not. It’s all about taking the bump to new heights (pardon the pun!), but of course comfort is also key.

WHEN TO START WEARING MATERNITY:

There are no hard and fast rules regarding timing and the need will differ from person to person. I popped super early and struggled to do up my jeans up around the seven week mark. However, I’ve heard of women only really starting to show around week seventeen and even into the early twenties – we are all so different. Having said that, I didn’t actually start wearing maternity fashion until around week 27 (nearing the end of my second trimester). I am also a big believer in showing off your bump, so fitted outfits were my preferred option.

AW15 FOR RIPE MATERNITY:

Don’t let pregnancy deter you from your favourite seasonal trends and styling options. While comfort is definitely essential, there are still many contemporary and stylish pieces that will make you look and feel good during your pregnancy. Ripe is an Australian owned fashion brand that is devoted to assisting women feel confident and stylish during this exciting time. I have been wearing Ripe for the last few months and love their diversity and there is something for every mumma-to-be. Whether you are still working in a corporate environment, brunching with your girlfriends on the weekend or running around after your toddler – there are pieces to suit every palate. What I also love about Ripe Maternity is you can still maintain your personal style, which is super important for me. We go through enough physical and emotional changes throughout our pregnancy, so it’s great to be able to hold onto our style.

Today I have featured my fave pieces from the Ripe Maternity AW15 collection. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be entering the cooler weather of autumn – what a relief! I have chosen to feature both some maternity and nursing specific pieces. Particularly now being well and truly into my third trimester, nursing options are a must. What I love about the nursing pieces in particular, is that they look like completely ‘regular’ clothes! This was definitely one area I was dreading until I realised there were some great options. I am all about chunky knits, beautiful fabric and comfort during the cooler months.

I truly love that these pieces look no different to the rest of my AW wardrobe from previous years – apart from that extra bit of fabric/room at the front!

SISJ OUTFIT BREAKDOWN > Here are my fave AW15 looks from Ripe and how to style them into your life…

It’s so great to have stylish options to wear so you can still catch-up with your girlfriends for brunch when you are breastfeeding. I also definitely prefer the jegging denim as it’s far more flexible and comfortable than regular denim during pregnancy. An AW15 wardrobe staple.

LOOK FOUR: Zen Lounge Top $74.95 / Cozy Slouch Pant $69.95 > If I am not dressed to the nines you will find me in loungewear! As many of my fellow preggies would understand, the minute you walk through the door the face comes off, the hair goes up and on come the trackies and a comfy top. I personally did this before I was pregnant too (!!!), but at 33 weeks it’s keeping me sane.
