So what constitutes rock-chic styling? That’s easy > messy bed hair, the I don’t give a **** snarl, a little cheek and BIG attitude!
I am so NOT a rock chick, however, I definitely love to mix-up my style every now and again with one piece that has a little more edge. With great styling and the right attitude this look is fierce! A happy medium regarding rock-chick styling for me is blending my ‘looks’. For example, I have styled this tee with 3/4 boyfriend jeans and white converse chucks as well as some tailored shorts with some cute ballet flats. It’s all about combining your styling to a level that suits YOU. If you are comfortable and confident the outfit with sell itself.

FASHION STYLING TIPS: you might read or believe it’s all about accessorising and over the top styling to achieve the ‘rock chick’ look, however, that’s not what I am doing. Unless I am heading to a Pearl Jam concert, I will add my feminine style to just about anything! When it comes to jewellery, I would also keep this simple. A simple silver pair of studs, a few light bracelet charms/bangle and that is about it. For me the most important part is nailing your hair and make-up. When you get these steps right you don’t need to rely on the loud jewellery to sell the look – too OTP baby!
BEAUTY STYLING: keeping it simple is the key. A light foundation with a matte finish and contouring with a bronzer/highlighter and concealer. Groom your brows so they look full and square, finishing off your eyes with a smoky cat-eye and lots of mascara. Complete the look with a lip balm or matte nude lipstick – it’s all about the eyes!
HAIR STYLING: the side fringe is a great rock chick addition to the look. Don’t even bother brushing your hair because you will probably back comb it anyway! My hair was literally a roll out of bed job! I slept on it with a slight kink and then just teased it up and ran my fingers through it (not a brush – you want it to stay separated/chunky). To add extra volume and texture, back comb the ends of your hair too with a slight comb over the top to remove fluff – this will give you the look in the right-hand image below >
