SISJ BEAUTY GET-THE-LOOK:
MY H&M ‘DOLLY’ MAKE-UP, with Melbourne MUA Kerry Tseros >
After we received such an overwhelming response to this look on social media we decided to bring you a HOW-TO. Please make Melbourne based MUA, Kerry Tseros, feel very welcome! Take it away, Kez >
MY AIM: Sarah Jane wanted a vintage-glam look for the H&M launch. This included her white lace dress, the faux bob by Raymond Charles and make-up inspired by Naomi Watts and Margot Robbie. For me it was all about achieving natural and flawless looking skin and making her eyes POP!
THE BASE: For SJ’s foundation I used Kryolan’s TV Paintstick, which is an absolute favourite of mine. This product has longevity and always leaves an absolutely flawless finish. I evenly applied the cream foundation all over the face and eyes. I also used a latex sponge as I find it gives me an even and consistent coverage. To set the foundation, I used a large powder/Kabuki brush to powder over the face – I like to use Kryolan Translucent Powder TL1. This is a light setting powder which does not change the colour of the foundation/skin.
CONTOUR AND HIGHLIGHT: After setting the foundation with powder, I contoured and highlighted SJ’s face with powder products. To contour, one of my fave products is the Mac Bronzing powder – Bronze. I used a thick angle shape brush to contour under the cheekbones, around the temples/forehead and on both sides of her nose. To highlight I used MAC Soft & Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish. I used a flat fan brush and applied it to the tops of the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and a touch in the middle of the forehead and tip of the chin (anywhere the light would naturally hit your face).
THOSE DOLLY CHEEKS: To achieve these gorgeous peachy cheeks I used the NARS Cream Blush – Cactus Flower. With a flat foundation brush, I softly applied some of the colour to the apples of the cheeks and worked my way back to the top of the cheekbone. I don’t usually mix my creams and powder products, however this cream blush blends over the powdered base beautifully.
BROWS & EYES: We all know how much SJ loves a BOLD BROW! To get this look I used an angle brush and filled them in with a taupe/brown shadow. I prefer to use shadows over pencils as I find they look more feathered and natural. For her eyes I used NARS eyeshadow – Nico. I applied this all over her eyelid for a soft and natural wash, then adding a hint of MAC eyeshadow ‘Mulch’ in the socket line. On the lid of the eye I applied MAC eyeshadow ‘shroom’ for a hint of shimmer.
To add that extra definition to the eyes, I applied a thin and crisp Liquid eyeliner just above the lashline.
DOLLY LASHES: To complete the ‘SISJ DOLLY’ eyes, I used Model Rock lashes – ‘Dolly’s eye’. These lashes fan across the eye and give them a dramatic lift.
LIPS: I went for a soft and natural nude lip. This highlighted the eyes as the feature and was easy for SJ to maintain throughout the night. I lined the lips with a natural coloured lip liner and then filled them in with a nude lipstick. I used NARS Lip crayon in Biscayne Park and added a touch of gloss for the perfect pout.
